Let’s Act like we’ve been here before
I know all of us Yankees’ fans are riding high today after last night’s marathon in Cleveland. And rightfully so. But we were supposed to win the Wild Card round, and in a sweep. Have we all forgotten that it’s supposed to be the Yankees and Dodgers in the World Series? Did I miss something along the way? It’s actually embarrassing to be the #5 seed!
Yes, they pulled out a game last night, coming from behind in the top of the 9th and closed it out in the bottom half. It should have never had come down to that. The Yankees offense had plenty of chance to tack on runs last night and failed to. And if they do that in the ALDS vs. The Rays, they will pay the price, and ultimately lose the series. The Bullpen needs to be much better. They’ve been inconsistent all year long. Was Tommy Kahnle the glue that held the entire bullpen together? I have no idea what has happened to Chad Green or Britton. And I said it earlier this year, I’m done with this Loaisiga experiment. It would make no difference to me if I never saw him throw another pitch as a Yankee.
Now let’s talk a little more about the ALDS vs. The Rays. They’re laughing at the Yankees. Remember the comment by Kevin Cash about he’s a bunch of guys that throw 98 in his bullpen. Well the Rays went out and made shirts and hats with the 98ers printed on them. It’s time for this group of Yankees to step and shut up the competition much like the Yankees’ teams of the 90s and early 00s did. Getting to ALDS or ALCS for that matter isn’t good enough anymore. It’s been over a decade since the Bombers have been to the World Series. It’s time for this group to get there, because if they don’t this team should, and I believe will, look very differently next season. I don’t know about the rest of you Yankees’ fans out there but I’m not satisfied with getting past the Indians in the Wild Card, I want number 28! Got get it boys!
