Hail Mary | The NFL Returns

Week 1 of the 2020 NFL season is in the books and here’s what I think I know thus far.

I’ll start with the locals here in NY.

It’s going to be a very long season for Jets fans. They looked awful against the Bills. They had a whole offseason the prepare for Buffalo and came out and looked like that? That fault lies squarely on the shoulders of coach Adam Gase, who probably will not make it through to week 17.

The Giants on the other hand looked like they had a plan, and actually executed as well as they could in the first half. The 2nd half was another story. To me, the game was lost in the first quarter when they settled for a FG after recovering a muffed punt inside the red zone. I could’ve stopped watching after that and never have seen the 19 play drive, that must have felt like Mike Tyson body blows to the Steelers defense, end in a terrible play call and even worse execution.

As for the rest of the league, Aaron Rodgers is pissed off and taking it out on everyone. I’ve run out of superlatives for Russell Wilson. The Ravens are still good and the Browns are still bad. The Super Bowl loser hangover is a real thing, just ask the 49ers. Joe Burrow will revive the Bengals. You can’t trade away your best player on offense and still expect to hang with the Champs. The Lions will always do Lions’ things to lose games. The Vikings may be the most overrated team in the NFL. It’s only week 1 so can we please go easy on the Cam the MVP is backtalk. Let’s see if he can make through 8 weeks first. The Washington Football Team’s defense is going to be a problem for their opponents. I guess a change of scenery isn’t going to help Phillip Rivers’ INT issues. Tom Brady and Drew Brees both look like 40 year old QBs. Big Ben is back, ladies beware! The Rams will just fine without Gurley and the Cowboys will always be the Cowboys, losing close games and blaming it on anyone, but themselves.

And Andy Reid is like a kid on Christmas morning with his brand new toy, Clyde Edwards-Helaire. The Super odds should be the Chiefs vs. the field.

Let’s see how much this changes in week 2?

It’s great to have the NFL back!
